William Entenmann, the founder of Entenmann's, was a baker from Stuttgart, Germany who opened his own bakery in Brooklyn in 1898. In 1961 the business expanded into New Jersey and Connecticut and soon after built the largest baking facility in the United States in Bay Shore. According to Entenmann's, Frank Sinatra placed weekly orders for its crumb coffee cake from the Bay Shore bakery.
