Kevin Jonas, Carmen Electra take in Pamella Roland's Russian style
With rich brocade, opulent jewel tones and luxe fabrics making headlines for Fall 2013, it makes sense that designers from Japan (Tadashi Shoji) to New York (Pamella Roland) were inspired by ornate Russia.
Rolland drew her inspiration specifically from the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, the baroque-style former home to Russian monarchs.
Strong, tailored suits, metallic tops and elegant jackets with faux fur started off the show, leading to the artfully crafted evening gowns.
Modern but regal floor-length gowns in deep moss greens and plums, and others in striking ruby reds and icy stone greys seemed to walk themselves down the runway, silk floating behind them and giving movement to curve-hugging sillhouettes embellished with hand-placed ostrich feathers and beading.
Singer Kevin Jonas in a leather-sleeved blazer and wife Danielle in a sleek black dress and statement necklace sat front row with Carmen Electra, who wore a cobalt blue, body hugging one-shoulder dress.
"We're both into fashion... we help each other get ready," Danielle said of stepping out for Fashion Week with her husband. The two are currently filming their E! reality series, "Married to Jonas."
