Nanette Lepore is not new to the Fashion Week scene, but even this seasoned designer said prepping for her spring 2013 show wasn't easy.
"It's the mornings leading up to the show that I wake up in a total panic," she said. "Two days ago, I was at work at 6:30 in the morning because I was just like, 'Oh, my God, the show's almost done, but I don't have my line figured out.'"
Lepore said the final steps of the process included getting her spring 2013 collection ready for the showroom, placing it and merchandising it. "There's always more pieces than what's on the runway," she said.

Lepore said she always makes sure to have everything out of the way before the day of the show.
"The day of the show is fun and calm," she said, "because I know I don't have to do anything stressful . . . I get to have fun, go out to lunch and then work starts again."
Her spring collection includes feminine yet powerfully structured dresses, skirts, pants and jackets in bold colors mixed with black. Shades of green were everywhere.
"The green was inspired when my husband bought a cottage in Ireland," she said. "We went over there, and it was just a beautiful, green, pastoral place."
Actress Abigail Breslin chose a neon pink Nanette Lepore dress with black trim that she paired with pink lipstick for the show.
"I really loved the color a lot; pink is my favorite color," she said, adding that Lepore's proportions flatter her petite figure.
Breslin has been attending fashion shows all week, but will leave New York Wednesday to resume work on her next film.
"This is my last hurrah, but there's no better place," Breslin said.
