Rag & Bone’s blanket statement

It was English countryside melding stunningly with Indian spice at Rag & Bone’s show Friday night, where unexpected mixes of tweed, floral tapestries and clever riding blanket patterns worked seamlessly with rich, coppery metallics.

There were piles of layers – pants-skirts-sweaters-coats -- all in one look, yet, somehow the designers -- David Neville and Marcus Wainright – managed to create sharp and focused silhouettes with precise cuts, amazing draping and waist-accentuating belts.

The collection could not have been more lust-worthy, in part, perhaps, because the show was held in a f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g warehouse at a pier on the Hudson, and – brrrrr – nothing called out more than the cozy blanket coats.
