Math can be hard, but Richard Chai aced it with his savvy sense of geometry. Here shapes and prints read soft and fluid and wholly hip.
There were shadow stripes, floral and plaid combos and a swervy geo print that encased the form but did not overwhelm. Chai wasn’t shy in the color department either – saturated shades of poppy, grenadine, cobalt and aqua amped up navy, black and white.

While some designers went for more relaxed silhouettes on the first day of Fashion Week, Richard Chai Love’s polished runway was streamlined, tailored and all buttoned up. Chai explored neat military styles in shades of evergreen, pine and olive.

Good guy Nick Cannon, host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” sat front row at Richard Chai’s show at the tents at Lincoln Center first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and admitted to being strongly moved by some of the contestants on the show.

A dreamy powder-blue nylon parka opened Richard Chai’s show — a charming ode to girlie athletic-wear — that included sweet pastel computer prints, belly-baring sport tops (um, yeah, these would be bras), and cute, tight biker shorts.
A body-hugging little dress featured a long, front zipper and a flirty flounce. Overall, this is the go-to stuff for everyday.
