If you’re like Michelle Obama—a sucker for a good print—then you’ll love slipping into many of the pieces in the 3.1 Phillip Lim spring collection. He had some grand themes on his mind, namely a “survey of raw landscapes,” as he wrote in his program notes, and an exploration of brutal yet “beautifully charged” ecosystems. Okay. There were gigantic, sculptural brass lamps on the runway; crazy good celebs in the house such as Maria Sharapova, Alicia Keyes, "Mad Men’s" Jessica Pare; and even big name models — Karen Elson and Karlie Kloss among them, but Jason Wu wasn’t getting whipped into a fancy frenzy — his show was all about ease and being relaxed.

Jason Wu has shown his collection downtown for the past few seasons but this time around he moved on up to Park Avenue to present his beautifully tailored, cohesive collection of sportswear and evening looks.
The irony of course, is that Wu, who famously dressed Michelle Obama for the inaugural ball twice, showed on Friday, in the very space where Oscar de la Renta, the go-to first lady guy...Read more »
The wow factor at Naeem Khan was, simply put, over the top. Expected here are blinged out dresses and gowns with an Indian flavor. Khan wardrobes celebs and is a favorite of Michelle Obama, who has donned his confections for state dinners.

Gigantic images of Watusi dancers, flowers and leaves interchanged with skyscrapers, oil rigs and highways flashed at the back of Tracy Reese’s runway show at the tents on Sunday afternoon, underscoring her vision for spring: a “mash-up” — her word — of organic fabrics colliding with technical ones. It was all about juxtaposition — soft and structured silhouettes, sporty and feminine garments.

Naeem Khan took Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, Padma Lakshmi, Kristen Chenowerth and close to 1,000 other audience members on a visit to his native country at his Tuesday afternoon show where his exotic collection of sparkling paisleys, metallic swirls and geometric prints were inspired, said notes, by “the decadence and the dust of India.”
