Rachel Zoe: Hot, hot, hot
You can’t blame Rachel Zoe for the fact that the air-conditioning failed in her venue at the tents at Lincoln Center on one of the hottest days of the year. It was an oven.
But despite the heat, the show was sassy, smart and very cool.
We watched Zoe-obsessed gals in the audience ogling — with lust almost — the baggy ripped up denim shorts and boyfriend jeans, the adorable itsy, bitsy fitted denim dress, and the boho sheer embroidered maxi.
Lightweight leather in aqua and white was perforated and there were jackets galore — military, safari and even a tuxedo number that bowed to the seasons’ crop top trend. Pants were loose and languid such as a sultry sequin pajama style and a washed out denim jean that was paired with a matching work shirt and read like a sexy mechanic’s uniform.
A backless baby doll frock in pink was adorbs, likewise a studded mod shift.
There was a little something for everyone here including Zoe, who is pregnant with her second child, and took her bow wearing a chiffon zebra caftan from her collection.
As far as the heat, the air-conditioning kicked in mid-show, but we were fine anyway as both our seatmates were serious fanners and we were caught in the crosswind. — Anne Bratskeir
