Hilfiger didn’t disappoint, stoked with a spot-on Americana vibe he's famed for. The collection relied on casual sportswear with clean lines and a polished collegiate look. A host of neutrals balanced pops of color: tomato red, forest green, Prussian blue. To spiff up a cut-off gray sweatshirt, he did it in cashmere. A red, ribbed Henley was a sporty, surprising complement to a flowing tulle skirt. And a zoomed-in plaid on a mohair stadium coat felt fresh. He took risks, too, unveiling sleeveless trenches, blazers and a pea coat, emphasizing that these are clothes to layer. And layer. — Joseph V. Amodio
