What They're Wearing: Kwanza Celebration
Kwanzaa, a weeklong celebration honoring pan African and African-American history and culture, is observed Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 every year. It features activities such as lighting a candle holder with seven candles and culminates in a feast and gift-giving. Kwanzaa was created by Maulana Karenga and was first celebrated in 1966.
