Good buy: 'Bliss burger' at Prime Time Butcher
Photo credit: Joshua Kreitzman (August 2009) | Lou and Josh Kreitzman, the father-son team that owns Prime Time Butcher, were inspired by the current gourmet-burger craze to create a ground-beef blend that would make a particularly luxuriant burger. They settled on a mixture of short ribs and brisket, two cuts that are full of flavor, the former sweeter, the latter more savory. Normally the "Bliss burger" sells for $7.98 a pound, but it's on special for $6.98 through Aug. 31. Prime Time forms the meat into 1/3-pound patties, but you can request another size. Prime Time's two locations are 382 Willis Ave., Roslyn Heights, 516-625-0032, and 8045 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, 516-921-6519.
