A bedroom makeover that's dog friendly

The master bedroom in the Centerport home of Kathy and Tom Nicolette was overdue for a change, so the empty-nesters turned to designer Kelly Dall of Kelly Dall Interior Design of Greenlawn. Dall aimed for a less-busy, elegant retreat. But the Nicolettes are very attached to their two French bulldogs, so the room had to be pet-friendly, too. Total: About $29,500, including Dall's $2,500 fee. -- Sylvia E. King-Cohen
