Looking to grow vegetables this summer but don't have the room? The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County is making community garden beds available at the CCE's new digs at 832 Merrick Ave. in East Meadow. For $75, you can get a 5-by-20-foot bed to use for the entire season.

Applications will be available on the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County website beginning on April 23, or they can be picked up  from the Nassau extension office at 832 Merrick Ave., East Meadow, between 10 a.m.  and  4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning  April 24.

Applications and payments are due by May 4, and a lottery will be held to assign the beds on May 7. if you aren't awarded a plot, your money will be refunded.
