We're getting ready for the 5th Great Long Island Tomato Challenge, and turnout this year is greater than ever. Gardeners from all around Nassau and Suffolk have thrown their hats into the ring, and we've got confirmed competitors ranging from age 5 to 94.

Are you in? No need to enter. All you have to do is nurture your biggest homegrown tomato between now and Friday, Aug. 26, then just show up here at Newsday headquarters with it. I'll be on hand to weigh each tomato personally and name the next king or queen.
