A sultry, misty Impressionistic wall covering sets the tone for the Sunday in Repose room at Holiday House 2011. The room by Huntington designer Eileen Kathryn Boyd uses peel-and-stick wallpaper from Black Crow Studios in Santa Monica, Calif. Boyd designed the look, starting with snippets of fabric she planned to use, and artists created a watercolor that was then digitally manipulated and printed, says Beth Haridopolos, Boyd's design director.
An unusual ceiling design sets the tone in Connecticut designer Suzanne Eason's Halloween sitting room at Holiday House 2011. The design is birds taking flight at nightfall. Most home owners cannot afford to commission a custom design such as this one, so Eason suggests decoupaging images from magazines, or any other source, to create a truly unique look.
