Iridescent tile adds sparkle to a bathroom

With two college-age kids and a high schooler sharing Angela and Joe Enrico’s bathroom, it was past time for a bathroom makeover. Designer Angela Enrico, owner of A. Sofia Interiors in Oceanside, says she wanted to create a spalike retreat that also would stand up to heavy traffic. “We had to gut it to the studs and replace plumbing and everything,” says Enrico. One area that got particular attention was the accent wall in the shower. Enrico wanted a waterfall effect, so they installed the small, rectangular iridescent tiles vertically. “I wanted the space to feel more open, and the glass enclosure opens the room up and makes it feel larger.” It also allows her a view of the accent wall even when she isn’t in the shower. TOTAL: About $19,078 (Enrico’s fee for a makeover this extensive would be $1,500.) — Sylvia E. King-Cohen
