Once a month, my girlfriends and I get together for a day of fun and a few laughs. This month, we learned the art of pysanka, which is often called Ukrainian egg decorating. (See my earlier post on the craft.)

I first learned about Pysanka in the pages of Martha Stewart Living magazine and became instantly intrigued by these beautiful little eggs. We learned all about this traditional craft at the Ukrainian Museum in Manhattan's East Village and then dined on "Ukrainian soul food" at Veselka, an amazing Ukrainian restaurant just a few blocks away. What a great day!
