Boyle found McGee in his backyard after superstorm Sandy and took the cat to the town shelter on Jan. 16. McGee, missing since 2010, was scanned for a microchip and reunited with Lanigan a day later. Lost LI cat returns home 3 years later

On Jan. 17, almost 36 months to the day after McGee, now 5, left home, Charlene Lanigan and her large, long-haired gray and white cat were reunited at the Islip Animal Shelter in Bay Shore.
