The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Bottomz Up — the provocatively named Carle Place sports bar that opened in 2012, and closed and reopened again in 2013 — is now permanently shut. At its launch, it had a highly credentialed chef, Adam Goldgell (a finalist on Food Network’s “Restaurant Express” and now chef at Reel in East Rockaway, which is on a winter hiatus). It also had a sushi bar and more than 50 TVs. Even so, the place was known mainly for its crew of attractive young waitresses attired in tank tops and shorts.

When asked why the place had closed, former general manager Eddie Fahmy said, “It was too big too fill up and the rent was too high. We felt it wasn’t worth continuing.”
