Burton & Doyle, one of the prime restaurants along Northern Boulevard's steak row in Great Neck, has been sold.
The buyers are Joseph Zangri and Bert Brodsky, co-owners of City Cellar in Westbury.
Zangri, who also operates Watermill Caterers and Restaurant in Smithtown, was co-developer of Rare650 in Syosset and Insignia in Smithtown, both properties of restaurateur Anthony Scotto, his father-in-law.
Zangri said the new chef at Burton & Doyle is Chris Hamaty, formerly of Blackstone Steakhouse, a Scotto restaurant in Melville. Burton & Doyle will get a "facelift," but would not be closed for the renovations.
The cuisine will continue to include steakhouse fare, but Zangri said more New American and Mediterranean dishes may be added, as well as an expanded raw bar featuring crudo.
Breslin Realty Development Corp. announced the sale.
Burton & Doyle was owned and operated by Mario Sbarro. The steakhouse has been in business since 1999. It succeeded the Sbarro-owned Salute! at the site.
The Sbarro family also currently owns Rothmann's Steakhouse in East Norwich.
