The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Now that it’s less chilly, why not head Out East and enjoy some chili? On Sunday, Clovis Point Wines in Jamesport is holding its third annual Great Chili Cookoff.

Five chefs — Lia Fallon (The Riverhead Project), Tom Schaudel (A Lure in Southold, A Mano in Mattituck, Jewel in Melville), Noah Schwartz (Noah’s in Greenport), Erik Brown (Erik’s Breakfast & Lunch in Southold) and Christopher Augusta (The Harvest Inn in Peconic) — will compete in the professional division, and eight home chef will put their own best bowls forward. For $25, guests get a taste of everything — and a ballot to vote for their favorite. (Guests older than 21 will also get a glass of Clovis Point Merlot.)

All proceeds benefit Group for the East End, a nonprofit that “protects and restores the environment of eastern Long Island through education, citizen action and professional advocacy.”
