The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Yummy Sushi, on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, has closed. The Japanese-Korean restaurant, which opened in 2007, had an odd layout and a cool little private dining room. And the restaurant served something harder to come by than spicy tuna rolls and chicken teriyaki. Or even Korean bulgoki. I'm talking about "well-being soup."
That soup drew me back time and again, especially when I felt a cold coming on. The rice porridge, similar to Chinese congee, was spiked with ginseng, brimming with bright vegetables and punctuated by the crunch of pine nuts. If you know of another place to find that soup, please speak up.
