The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Energy Kitchen, a Syosset eatery on Jericho Turnpike, has run out of steam. The place was geared to low-cal healthy eating and opened in 2012 as the first Long Island branch of a New York City chain.

Now, it seems, the entire operation has gone under. A message on the Energy Kitchen website states, “We have made the difficult decision to close all of our NYC and Long Island locations.”

I recall having a pretty decent Thai chicken wrap that weighed in at 414 calories. And a juicy turkey burger topped with low-fat American cheese that satisfied at 394 calories.
