Feed Me

The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

When last we caught up with the Syosset restaurant formerly known as Empire Szechuan Gourmet, it had just changed its name to Hao. Now, Hao was the successor to Ao (which sounded too much like a cry of pain). Ao was the name the owners chose after they jettisoned Dao, which was deemed too similar to Tao, the previous incarnation and also the name of a restaurant in Manhattan that did not appreciate the homage.

Well, the restaurant has taken a radical new direction: It is now called Din Din. Apparently the name change occurred about two weeks ago. Same owners, same menu, same phone number.

Din Din is at 6600 Jericho Tpke., Syosset, 516-931-3663
