Food Networks newest competition show, "Cutthroat Kitchen," premiered Aug. 11. The show, hosted by Alton Brown, apes Chopped as four chefs are whittled down to one winner through three successive challenges. The twist is that the chefs are urged to sabotage one anothers dishes. At the beginning of the show they are each given $25,000 in cash. They then bid on the opportunity to deny their competitors such necessities as cooking tools, or to saddle them with such dish destroyers as precooked turkey breast. The winning chef gets to keep whatever cash he or she hasnt spent.

The third episode, which airs Sunday at 10 p.m., features Long Islands own DJ Chef Marc Weiss. Weiss, a trained restaurant chef, has established himself as a popular entertainer at food festivals and catered events where he simultaneously spins records while cooking up a storm.
