Eric Lomando, the chef-owner of Kitchen A Bistro and Kitchen A Trattoria in St. James, emailed to respond to my recent post about customers who book at two restaurants for the same evening. “Would you believe that we actually have had people double-book in our two restaurants?,” he wrote. “Last weekend, a party came to the trattoria [where they don’t take reservations] and asked if we had room for them. We rearranged things to fit them in and then they said, ‘hold on, we just have to cancel our reservation down at the bistro.’”
Lomando’s team dutifully seated the party. “It gets so frustrating,” he lamented.
