East End restaurants weathering the early spring doldrums are poised to get a shot in the arm during East End Restaurant Week, which kicks off Sunday, March 26.

It may sound like a brand-new event, but it's not -- East End Restaurant Week is a retooled name for the 15-year-old Hamptons Restaurant Week, whose bounds have long spilled beyond the South Fork.

“We felt it was time for a rebrand, and all along we’ve had tremendous support on the North Fork,” said Steve Haweeli, president of the Long Island Restaurant and Hospitality Group and one of the event’s founders.

Of the 30 restaurants so far taking part, seven are on the North Fork, including Caci North Fork and Jedediah Hawkins Inn; two are in Riverhead; one is in Baiting Hollow; and one is in Wading River.

During the weeklong event, which ends April 2, participating restaurants will offer three-course dinners — appetizer, entrée and dessert — for $28.95. Haweeli pointed out that a handful of the restaurants “are really hard tables” to score during the summer season.

A new name is not the only change for East End Restaurant Week: For the first time, hostelries such as the Southampton Inn and Amagansett’s 434 on Main are offering discounts on accommodations.
