Elevation Burger plans to heat up Plainview’s burger competition by opening in the Woodbury Plaza Shopping Center. The location, formerly Boomy’s New York Deli, is less than 400 yards down South Oyster Bay Road from Bareburger — and less than four miles from DirtyBurger.

The Plainview store will be the Virginia-based chain’s first on Long Island. (The only other locations in the metro area are in Rye Brook and Yonkers.) Halal Burger Guys LLC, which owns the local franchise rights, expects to open before the end of the year.

Like Bareburger, Elevation Burger offers organic beef burgers and organic chicken sandwiches. Unlike Bareburger, the Elevation menu does not feature grain bowls, design-your-own salads, or patties made from elk, bison or wild boar.

Inside an Elevation Burger, customers may find wood or tiled floors, blonde wood tables and a blue and white motif. The menu includes single, double and stackable burgers, two vegetarian burger options, organic chicken sandwiches, BLTs, grilled cheese and milkshakes that start with chocolate, vanilla or coffee ice cream.

Hans Hess opened the first Elevation Burger in Falls Church, Virginia, in 2005, showcasing organic beef burgers along with fries cooked in olive oil. Today, Elevation burger is cited as the one of the largest restaurant purchasers of organic beef. Bareburger states its “all-natural” meats are made from free-range, pasture-raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free animals. Shake Shack promises antibiotic- and hormone-free “100 percent all-natural” Angus beef.

Elevation Burger maintains over 50 company owned or franchised locations in the U.S. and around the world. Three more Long Island stores are planned.
