The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
On Friday, some of Manhattan’s best-known chefs will gather to support their friend Gerry Hayden, partner and erstwhile chef at Southold’s North Fork Table and Inn, who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) about two years ago. (Read more about Hayden and the restaurant here.) Tom Colicchio, Daniel Boulud, Bobby Flay and Michael White will all speak at a dinner held at Cipriani Le Specialità, a New York outpost of Venice’s celebrated Harry’s Bar.
This will be the 15th annual “Family Dinner” sponsored by Project A.L.S., a nonprofit devoted to raising funds for ALS research. In addition to honoring Hayden, there will be medical updates from the organization’s researchers.
Cipriani Le Specialità is at 110 E. 42nd St., Manhattan. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m.; a four-course family-style dinner begins at 7:30. Tickets for the event are available at $500 and $1,000. Tables are available for $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000. For more information or to buy tickets, go to www.projectals.org.
