Ron Duprat, a former "Top Chef" contestant, is the new executive chef at the Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina.
Duprat, who came to the United States from Haiti, studied at the Culinary Institute of America and La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine. He has been a consultant at Rastelli Direct, a food company; consulting executive chef at the Sugar Bay Resort and Spa in St. Thomas; and executive chef at Latitudes Beach Cafe in Hollywood, Florida.
The main restaurant at the Montauk Yacht Club is the Gulf Coast Kitchen. His menu includes dishes such as lobster Nicoise and jumbo scallops with citrus butter.
Duprat has been involved in programs aimed at healthy eating for children and curbing obesity, as well as raising funds for earthquake relief in Haiti. He is the author of "My Journey Through Cooking."
Duprat appeared in the sixth season of Bravo's "Top Chef" series.
