The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
If you’ve been hankering for the excellent duck salad, pad Thai or eggplant with basil at Frankly Thai in Franklin Square, better get there before Oct. 6. That’s when co-owning couple Frankie Perrone and chef Jintana Lauchalermsuk will depart for their annual trip to Thailand, taking with them the restaurant’s entire crew for a culinary expedition.
When it reopens on Nov. 1, Perrone said, Lauchalermsuk hopes to have some new items in her repertoire. One, he said, will be a steamed rice cake dumpling she plans on making with equipment she can only get in Thailand. And, he added, there will be lots more.
Frankly Thai was named one of Newsday's top ten Asian restaurants this year.
Frankly Thai is at 959 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square, 516-616-4393, franklythai.com.
