The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Two years after the launch of GM Burger Bar in Rockville Centre, along comes a new offshoot in Massapequa Park. It opens on Friday, Aug. 28.
The design of the new spot incorporates exposed brick, subway tiles and dark wood floors. The menu, from executive chef Frank Greco, is the same as the recently updated one featured in Rockville Centre. Among dishes are chicken meatball lollipops, crispy Brussels sprouts, a "Frenchy" burger (with caramelized onion, Gruyere and mozzarella), rotisserie chicken and a chicken club sandwich. Burger prices range from $9.95 for a simple 5-ounce burger to $18.95 for the "big chopped steak," which is a 12-ounce burger served open-faced on garlic toast.
At the restaurant's bar, craft beers are emphasized. There are also 30 outdoor seats for alfresco dining, weather permitting.
GM Burger Bar is at 4902 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, 516-308-7722 and also 209 N. Long Beach Rd., Rockville Centre, 516-208-6100, gmburgerbar.com
