Vegetarians of Suffolk County now have one less reason to feel neglected: Golden Star, a Chinese and Japanese restaurant in Medford, just launched a separate and extensive vegetarian menu.
Meat, poultry and seafood facsimiles are fashioned of mushroom, tofu and soy beans. Included on the new menu: sizzling beef and shrimp ($15.95); Buddhist bird nest made with mock scallops; jumbo shrimp and chicken filet in a kung pao sauce with broccoli ($15.95); and vegetarian mock pork lo mein ($10.75).
