Predictability can be both a forte and a shortfall for chain restaurants. So, to keep things from becoming same-old, same-old, the menu at Grand Lux Cafe at Roosevelt Field has just been updated with a number of seasonal specialties.
New this winter are such entrees as honey roasted chicken ($17.95), Parmesan-crusted pork chop ($19.95) and almond-crusted trout ($19.95). Bento lunch specials, all at $14.95, include wood-grilled salmon with sweet corn and green chilies, spicy Korean chicken and gnocchi with slow-roasted short rib. Augmenting the dessert list is a “banoffee” pie ($7.95), its cookie crust filled with English toffee sauce and caramelized bananas.
