The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Nissos sleeps with the fishes.
The casual, bright white-and-Aegean blue Greek restaurant, which opened last year in Syosset, has closed. It was the 13th restaurant on the Berry Hill Road site in the last 25 years. Among the previous residents were Toast & Tapas, Moules et Frites, Pomodorino, and Umi.
Nissos received a one-star rating in Newsday. Better dishes at the seafood-oriented restaurant included pan-fried cod and grilled black bass. Also good were Greek spreads with eggplant and with roe, saganaki, and moussaka.
Nissos was at 4 Berry Hill Rd., Syosset.
