The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
You can help a worthy charity while eating ribs made by Hamptons chefs during a competitive cook-off. It's all to benefit the Ken Pribil Jr. Foundation for Sarcoma Cancer and it's scheduled to go down on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Southampton home of Kenny Pribil. Tickets go from $75 to $150 each (plus processing fee); the earlier you buy, the better the pricing is. In return, you get unlimited food and drink, as well as valet parking and entertainment from reggae band ReverbNation and DJ Twilo. Right now, about 200 out of 300 tickets remain.
Chefs competing include Jordan Andino of Harlow East in Sag Hargor, Matthew Boudreau of The Restaurant at Baron's Cove in Sag Harbor, Anthony Russo of Hampton Lady Beach Bar & Grill in Hampton Bays, Marco Barilla of Hamptons caterer Insatiable Eats and Alex von Salad, a private chef who also cooks for pets. Judges include Broadway producer Dan McDonald and entrepreneur Barbara K (aka Diyva) and Rocco Ancarola, co-owner of LAVO Restaurant/Club in Manhattan.
