The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Lumix Hibachi & Sushi Lounge has taken over the Lynbrook space that, for years, housed Pizzeria Uno. Some of Lumix's owners are also partners at Xaga in Merrick and Hewlett.

From the sushi bar come such items as tuna tataki ($10), a yellowtail jalapeƱo roll ($6), a Sunrise roll fashioned of spicy tuna with tempura flakes and avocado ($12) and a sushi regular combo platter ($18). Kitchen dishes include tofu teriyaki ($14) and chicken tempura ($15).

In the hibachi-style dining room, furnished with eight tables, chefs create culinary theater using knives, spatulas and fire.  Among choices: hibachi-style chicken ($16), sirloin steak ($19) and scallops ($19), as well as various combinations. Hibachi dinners come with clear soup, a green salad, hibachi shrimp, hibachi vegetables and white rice. For an extra $3, you can upgrade to vegetable fried rice or noodles.

Lumix Hibachi & Sushi Lounge is at 693 Sunrise Hwy., Lynbrook, 516-887-8898.
