The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

You may have read on this blog that restaurateur Nader Gebrin (of Bravo! Nader in Huntington) will soon be opening a fish house in the former digs of Sally's Cocofe.

That was in July, and things change quickly in the realm of restaurant real estate. As it stands right now, Gebrin has decided to opt for another site. Currently, he said, he and his investors are in negotiations for a locale that will offer more convenient parking.

The eatery Gebrin envisions will focus on "quality takeout." It will offer counter service and, for those who want to eat in, about a dozen tables. Nothing on the menu will cost more than $15. Here are some dishes Gebrin said he expects to offer: Tuna sliders, salmon kebab over jasmine rice with tahini sauce, a skirt steak sandwich, fish and chips, fried oysters with tartar sauce and turkey meatballs with whole wheat pasta.

Stay tuned for updates.
