The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Huntington, a town with no shortage of interesting places to eat, is about to stage another restaurant week. Running Sunday, Oct. 11, to the following Sunday, Oct. 18, the event features a wide range of dining spots where three-course meals go for $27.95. Keep in mind that on Saturday nights, the deal is offered only until 7 p.m.
Among participants are Fado, a downtown Portuguese spot, where choices include an appetizer of red bliss potato croquettes with Portuguese sausage (chourico) cream sauce, a main course of slow-roasted Cornish hen stuffed with yellow lentils and, among dessert options, sweet potato pie; at 110 Japan, a sushi and hibachi house in Huntington Station, you can start with beef short ribs and move on to a main course of shrimp hibachi style, concluding with banana tempura. And at the New American Jewel in Melville, a starter of steamed red curry mussels may be followed by marinated skirt steak and a finale of strawberry cheesecake.
