The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa in Boston won the James Beard Foundation Award Monday night for best chef in the Northeast.

Gerry Hayden, executive chef at The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold, was a  finalist in the category for the third consecutive year.

No Long Island chef has received the award.

Dominique Ansel, who unveiled the cronut at his namesake bakery in Manhattan, was named outstanding pastry chef nationwide; Nancy Silverton of Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles, outstanding chef; and The Slanted Door in San Francisco, outstanding restaurant.

The lifetime achievement award went to Sirio Maccioni of Le Cirque in Manhattan.

The ceremony was held at Lincoln Center.
