La Fondita in Amagansett, a summer landmark for lively and authentic Mexican fare, has traditionally closed for the winter. Not this year. The casual taco stand is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for takeout as well as indoor eating at the counter.
On Thursdays the place is featuring a taco kit to feed a family of four, at $30. Included are 12 handmade soft corn tortillas, one quart of any taco filling plus all the fixings, along with a quart of rice and black beans. Add a big salad for another $8.
Also, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., La Fondita is offering brunch specials, among them chilaquiles con huevo — tortillas sauteed with salsa verde and topped with crema, queso fresco and a fried egg ($9) as well as a breakfast burrito ($8.50) made with eggs sauteed with peppers, onions and tomatoes, rice and whole black beans.
