Feed Me

The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

If you want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the safety of your own home, consider the Irish feast offered by bakery-market-caterer Loafers, on offer this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Joan Lipsky, the “mother” of this family-run operation, makes a mean corned beef with cabbage, potatoes and carrots, along with an Irish soda bread. The meal, which feeds 1 to 2, is $15. Loafers is happy to cook for a crowd; the store is making the dinner for groups as large as 24.

Round out the meal with some Hibernian-themed sweets: green pistachio-cheddar spread, clover-colored buttercream cakes, Baileys Irish Cream cheesecake, and shamrock adorned cookies, chocolates and cupcakes

Loafers is at 175 Birch Hill Rd., Locust Valley, 516-759-9464.
