In this week’s Newsday, Joan Reminick reviews Plancha Tapas and Wine Bar in Garden City, dedicated to “the simple pleasures of sipping wine and sharing small plates.” With its high ceilings and wood beams, Plancha resembles Salumi Tapas and Wine Bar in Massapequa (with whom it shares owners) but Garden City boasts a flat-top Spanish grill — the eponymous plancha — that is responsible for such Iberian delights as grilled octopus.
Peter Gianotti visits Chadwicks American Chophouse & Bar in Rockville Centre. Since executive chef Art Gustafson bought the place in April, he writes, “dining here has improved and so has the atmosphere. Situated opposite the Rockville Centre station of the Long Island Rail Road, Chadwicks is a comfortable stop for New American fare and continental mainstays.”
