The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

In this week’s Newsday, Joan Reminick reviews Sabroso in East Meadow. “If you've never before tasted the lively cuisine of the Dominican Republic, consider Sabroso for those crucial first bites,” she writes. While the little eatery is “low on amenities,” the good food, ample portions and low prices make it “a winner.”

Peter Gianotti visits One Main, which “fits neatly into downtown Babylon, pouring some very good local brews and generally serving the type of food that goes with them.” The setting is spacious, stylish and easygoing. “Order carefully,” he writes, “and you’ll have a pretty good meal too.”
