For those who want to celebrate Passover but for whatever reason cant do it at home, Mitch and Tonis American Bistro in Albertson is offering a Passover prix-fixe dinner on March 25 and 26 from 5 p.m. at $48 per person. No, its not kosher nor is it a true seder, with readings from the Haggada, but it will feature traditional dishes.
Chef Mitch SuDock's dinner begins with chopped liver and charoset, followed by house-made gefilte fish with celery root, carrot slaw and horseradish dressing. Next comes matzo ball soup. For a third course, theres a choice of either sweet and sour brisket, sauteed salmon with lemon beurre blanc or mushroom stuffed chicken breast. On the side: tzimmes, potato gratin and asparagus. Dessert options include flourless chocolate cake, Passover lemon cake and mixed berry compote.
