Tokyo visits the Hamptons on July 21, when ramen superstar Ivan Orkin — Long Island native son, raised in Syosset — will visit Momi Ramen in East Hampton for one night only.
A special a la carte “Ivan Ramen” menu will be served alongside the restaurant’s offerings; seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Expect to pay $15 to $21 per bowl of noodles.
Orkin went to Japan in the late 1990s, eventually making him internationally famous at a restaurant he opened in 2006 with classic styles that packed the house. He was known to ask people to leave the restaurant if they requested a variation of his ramen.
He eventually opened a second place in Tokyo, then two spots in New York: NYC Slurp Shop in Gotham West Market and Ivan Ramen on the Lower East Side.
