Ruschmeyer's resort, as familiar to Montauk regulars as the lighthouse, has undergone changes in style and content.

The 3-acre complex, which dates to 1952, is now under King & Grove Hotels, which also operates The Surf Lodge.  Edibly speaking, the primary news is about Ruschmeyer's kitchen.

The new dining room replaces Second House Tavern. On the menu: raw shellfish, smoked bluefish; lamb terrine with cumin, yogurt and mint; steamed mussels; wood-oven pizzas; and main dishes such as grilled rib-eye steak, monkfish green curry, whole roasted porgy, fried spotted tilefish, roasted arctic char, and linguine with pesto.
