The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.

Tonight, Morton's The Steakhouse in Great Neck launches a 6-week $59 prix-fixe menu, in conjunction with the History Channel series “The Men Who Built America,” which premieres at 9 p.m. The series profiles business titans John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan and Cornelius Vanderbilt. The thinking, it seems, is that America's movers and shakers do much of their wheeling and dealing at steak houses.

The meal starts with a choice of salad — Caesar, spinach or Morton’s signature salad — followed by a 6-ounce filet mignon with either broiled sea scallops, jumbo shrimp Alexander or a jumbo lump crabcake, plus a choice of vegetable. Dessert is hot chocolate cake, Key lime pie or crème brûlée.

In addition, the restaurant will be featuring a signature cocktail, The Rockefeller Martini, at $14.

Morton's The Steakhouse is at 777 Northern Blvd., Great Neck, 516-498-2950.
