The New American, small-plates restaurant that opened in late 2012 has closed.
It was well-received at the outset, earning a two-and-a-half-star rating for initial chef Adam Pitre's fare. The restaurant also was named one of 2013's top 10 on Long Island. Pitre's winning dishes included seared Montauk swordfish with caponata, Wagyu beef sliders, roasted tomato risotto with asparagus, deviled eggs, and macaroni and cheese enriched with lobster. Pitre left in 2014.
The restaurant was at 552 N. Country Rd., in the former site of O's Food and Wine Bar.
