The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
Nick Hannides, who was chef-owner of the former Graffiti in Woodbury, has taken over the kitchen of Hemingway’s American Bar & Grill in Wantagh.
Hannides has developed a new menu, which features such dishes as onion-crusted chicken breast, a former Graffiti’s specialty ($17.95), slow-and-low- braised short rib ($23.95), and fresh spinach fettuccine with shrimp and salmon ($19.95). Desserts, like cheesecake, banana cream tart and white chocolate mousse, are now made in house by Hannides.
Currently, the place is running a $24.95 anniversary nightly prix-fixe dinner through Sept. 18. Choose a soup or salad, followed by an entree choice such as lemon dill salmon, grilled boneless rib eye steak and grilled twin pork chops. The meal concludes with the chef’s dessert selection.
Hemingway’s American Bar & Grill Grill is at 1885 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, 516-781-2700, hemingwaysgrill.com.
