Today, Long Island — as well as New York — said hello to its first Noodles & Company, situated in the Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City (next to Ulta). The Colorado-based chain specializes in noodle and pasta dishes from around the world and also serves entrees, salads, soups and sandwiches.
Most pasta-based dishes are priced $4.79 (small) and $5.89 (regular). To add a protein, such as pork, steak, shrimp or tofu, an additional charge ranges from $2.39 to $2.79. Pasta choices include pesto cavatappi, pad thai, Bangkok curry and Indonesian peanut sauté. Separately priced are truffle mac and cheese ($7.99), spaghetti and meatballs ($7.19, $8.19) and steak stroganoff ($7.49, $8.59), as well as a BBQ pork sandwich ($7.49) and grilled chicken Caesar salad ($8.39). Gluten free noodles are available and dishes are customizable in terms of ingredients and spice level.
Upon entering the restaurant, you place your order at a register. You’ll be handed a number before choosing a table. When your food is ready, it will be brought out to you. An enhanced service feature means that roving hosts will visit tables, asking whether drink refills, utensils or napkins are needed, as well as suggesting wine pairings and desserts. You will not have to get back on line to order additional items from a host. And tipping isn’t allowed.
